Sabugo Secondary School is a three-stream mixed day school located approximately a half a
kilometre from Mirangine shopping centre in Sabugo location of Mirangine Sub- county, Nyandarua
County. Mirangine Sub- county is within Sabugo ward of Ol Kalou constituency.
The school started in 1994 in a semi-permanent structure (formerly a nursery school) at the current location of Githima Secondary School. It was started after Nyakiambi Secondary School was turned into a provincial girls’ only boarding school locking out most students from the locality.
Community leaders came together to create Sabugo as an alternative. In 1995, it was relocated to the current site where it sits on a ten acre plot of land allocated by the Nyandarua County Council.
The first class had an enrolment of seven students with three (3) volunteer teachers
The school is half a kilometer from the Dundori – Ol jororok road (C83) and about a kilometer
from the Sub- county headquarters.
The school is sponsored by the County Education Board (C.E.B).
